What traders say after working on their plan
Feedback from workshop participants, coaching clients, and plan reviews — with specifics about what changed in their trading process.
I traded GBP/JPY for two years without writing down my rules. The workshop forced me to define what a "pullback to the 20 EMA" actually looks like on a four-hour chart. My plan is now eight pages and I refer to it every morning.Michael P., Manchester — Trading Plan Workshop Workshop · June 2025
Tom did not let me off easy when my stop rule made no sense on the DAX chart I brought. We spent forty minutes on one setup until the invalidation level was obvious. That single change was worth the session fee.Claire W., Edinburgh — Chart Coaching Coaching · August 2025
The review was thorough but blunt — Helen marked twelve sections of my plan that used words like "strong" or "clear" without defining them. Rewriting those took a weekend. I wish I had done this before my last drawdown.Andrew K., Bristol — Signal Review Review · October 2025
Group size was perfect. Hearing another participant read my entry rule aloud and get confused was uncomfortable but useful. I simplified two setups that day.Rachel H., Ripon — Trading Plan Workshop Workshop · February 2026
Online format worked fine. Shared screens, same workbook as the in-person people get. Only mild complaint: I wanted more time on position sizing, but Helen said that was a coaching topic and offered a follow-up slot.Paul S., Cardiff — Trading Plan Workshop Workshop · Online · December 2025
Second coaching block helped me add a commodities section to my plan without breaking the risk rules from the first sessions. Still refining, but the document feels like mine now rather than copied from a forum post.Emma L., Leeds — Chart Coaching (block) Coaching · 2025–2026
Case: From scattered notes to a single plan document
Client: Part-time FTSE 100 swing trader, attended workshop then two coaching sessions.
Starting point: Three years of trading with rules spread across sticky notes, a spreadsheet, and memory. Entries often taken on mobile without checking higher-timeframe structure.
Work done: Workshop produced a draft plan limiting trades to two setups on daily charts. First coaching session tightened stop placement to prior swing lows. Second session added a pre-market checklist requiring a printed chart markup before any order.
Outcome after 90 days: Client reported fewer impulsive trades and a journal showing plan adherence on 14 of 16 taken positions. Not a performance guarantee — but a documented process where there was none before.
Case: Plan review after a six-week drawdown
Client: Full-time FX trader, booked signal review after breaching daily loss limit three times in one month.
Finding: Plan allowed "breakout" entries without specifying which session's range. Most losses occurred during the Asian overlap when ranges were untested in the client's history.
Change: Added session filter excluding trades before London open unless a prior-day level was involved. Client booked one follow-up coaching session to rewrite the breakout section.
